Guardian Angels Training offers an important and accessible Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid RQF (QCF) training course, which covers subjects like Emergency First Aid at Work, Basic Life Supports and Activity and Sports related injuries. The course has been created specifically for those working in active environments and recreational settings.
Considerably more expansive in its teaching than a standard first aid course, our RQF (QCF) Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid covers a series of additional topics of relevance to sports, leisure and recreational environments.
- Unit Title: Emergency First Aid Skills
- Unit Title: Management of illness and injury in activity
The course introduces an array of disciplines by way of theoretical education and practical experience – delegates will study for a minimum of 12 hours in-class.
Some pre-course activity is required and the completion of a course assignment.
The Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid RQF (QCF) training course covers an important collection of topics including:
- Responsibilities and reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Basic hygiene in First Aid
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Heart attacks
- Bleeding control
- Head injuries
- Spinal injuries
- Minor injuries
- Drowning injuries
- Electrical injuries
- Heat and cold
Assessment & Certification
In order for a delegate to pass the RQF (QCF) Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid course, they must be able to demonstrate competence in and knowledge of all of the above topics and disciplines to a sufficient level. Course instructors monitor delegates throughout the program and will test their knowledge at the end of the course with a multiple choice questionnaire. Only those passing all elements will receive their certificates.
A three year qualification will be issued to the delegate, subject to the assessment.
