Continuing Healthcare and Personal Health Budgets: Individual Employer – Training for Personal Assistants
For people receiving Continuing Healthcare and Personal Health Budgets it is important to develop the knowledge and skills of Personal Assistants to ensure they provide safe care and support to Individual Personal Health Budget holders.
The principle of Personal Health Budgets is to meet an individual’s healthcare requirements within an allocated budget, it is reasonable to assume that a responsibility within this is to ensure that the training and development needs of the Personal Assistants are met, this includes initial training, refresher training, and for training in any new skill required when needs change.
There should be ongoing reviews to ensure competency is maintained and new competencies acquired when needed. High quality support and development should be provided to Personal Assistants.
Our goal is to meet the needs of the Individual Personal Health Budget holder and their Personal Assistants; we offer bespoke training, in the persons own home or at a location of their choice, which is delivered around their individual requirements and schedule.
Training is tailored around the individual’s circumstances and the identified training needs within a person’s health and well-being plan, ensuring Personal Assistants have received the appropriate training to help equip them to efficiently and confidently care for the individual.
In addition to being able to offer training courses our team of highly qualified nurses can also offer competency assessments and on-going clinical oversight and care planning / risk assessment support.
