This three-day training course is aimed at giving care sector trainers the necessary skills and confidence to deliver accredited Infection Control courses.

 

There are two course options for this specialist health and social care Infection Prevention and Control Train the Trainer training course.

 

Learners can choose to take this accredited Level 4 Train the Trainer Infection Prevention and Control course as a standalone specialist train the trainer qualification. Or alternatively, for learners who do not currently hold a recognized teaching qualification, then this specialist Infection Prevention and Control Train the Trainer qualification can be studied alongside our nationally accredited Level 3 or Level 4 Award in Education and Training.

 

Course Description

This training course is a specialist Train the Trainer course which qualifies the delegate to teach a range of Infection Prevention and Control training courses to health and social care workers. This course covers the knowledge and learning outcomes of RQF (QCF) Level 2 Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control.

“In-house / onsite courses for groups” – we offer flexible course delivery, at a time convenient for you and your staff when delivered at your site.

 

This course is delivered in-house to a maximum of 12 delegates.

 

“Open courses for individual” – pre-register your interest in forthcoming open course dates held around the UK.

 

Aimed at

All trainers who have a responsibility (or wish) to teach Infection Prevention and Control to health and social care workers.

 

Course Content

The syllabus includes:

  • What is meant by the terms infection and cross infection
  • How infection is transmitted and how to reduce its spread
  • How to effectively wash hands and what is meant by ‘universal precautions’
  • The difference between bacterial and viral infections
  • The groups of people most at risk
  • The necessary paperwork and audit trail
  • Preparing and delivering a training session
  • Create a range learning resources
  • Reflect on own practice

 

Assessment and Award

The course assessment is aimed at ensuring staff have gained the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver subjects relating infection prevent and control. On successful completion candidates will be awarded with a Level 4 Train the Trainer in Infection Prevention and Control and a Level 3 or 4 Award in Education and Training.

 

Duration

Three Days if already a skilled Trainer.

 

Four Days if require a nationally recognized Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
