Created to offer the perfect foundation of knowledge for those with no prior experience, our Learning Disability Awareness Training is designed to introduce the subject to newcomers for the very first time.
This training course helps delegates understand Hoarding and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), work in a sympathetic way with people living with the condition and ensure safety and minimising of risk when entering a cluttered environment.
Delegates will learn to identify the difference between a lifestyle choice and an obsessive disorder to support the individual to improve their quality of life in the best manner.
The Hoarding and OCD training programme also covers elements of managing risk and health and safety, for example reducing fire risks and trip hazards for the individual and any support staff who have to enter the cluttered environment.
Delegates will be encouraged to use the best approaches to support people whose condition is becoming a concern.
