Course Description

Our Cytology Sampling and Cervical Screening training has been specifically designed for qualified cervical/cytology sample screening takers. The aim of the course is to update their knowledge in line with the NHS Cervical Screening Programme (NHSCSP) National guidelines. Not only does the course ensure staff are compliant with all requirements of the NHSCSP, but also covers a wide range of related modules including communication with patients, Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN), referring to Colposcopy and more.

Our highly-experienced educators deliver expert, up to date knowledge in line with current best practice. We are also able to offer bespoke solutions in relation to cytology sampling and cervical screening, based on the patient and service requirements of your organisation.

The Cytology sampler and Cervical Screening training update covers a review of:

• Ensuring compliance with NHSCSP guideline

• Transformation Zone sampling
• High risk HPV triage

• Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and the sample taker’s legal obligations;
• Sample taking for Women who have sex with Women (WSW);
• Taking the Sample - a review of correct procedures
• Understanding and explaining the Results

• Documentation and record keeping

Important Information

This training course is NOT open to individuals. We only deliver this training onsite to groups of professionals, as arranged by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s), NHS Trusts, Sexual Health / Family Planning Teams and Large GP Practices.
