RCN Accredited Immunisation and Vaccination Training Courses
Our immunisation and vaccine training courses build confidence, strengthen competence and protect lives.
Vaccinations are one of the most effective public health interventions, protecting millions of people from preventable diseases every year, from childhood immunisations such as the 6-in-1 vaccine and MMR, to adult boosters such as flu and COVID-19. Ensuring vaccines are administered correctly is essential for maintaining safety, effectiveness, and public confidence.
At Guardian Angels Training, we deliver an RCN-accredited Immunisation and Vaccination Training Course that gives healthcare professionals the knowledge, skills, and confidence to administer vaccines safely, effectively, and in line with the latest UK guidance.
All our Immunisation and Vaccine training courses are delivered onsite to organisations by experienced Immunisation and Public Health Nurse Specialist Educators, ensuring training is interactive, relevant, and tailored to your workforce needs.
Why Vaccination and Immunisation Training Matters
Vaccines prevent illness, hospitalisation, and death from diseases such as influenza, COVID-19, measles, and hepatitis. However, they must be stored, prepared, and administered correctly to remain effective.
Safe vaccine delivery requires trained staff who understand:
- How the immune system responds to vaccination.
- The correct storage, handling, and administration techniques.
- Legal, ethical, and clinical governance around vaccination practice.
- How to identify contraindications, anaphylaxis, and adverse reactions.
Our RCN-accredited immunisation and vaccination courses provide up-to-date, evidence-based education aligned with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and NHS England standards.
How Vaccines Work
Vaccines contain a harmless form or component of a pathogen, such as an inactivated virus, a weakened strain, or a purified protein. These trigger the body’s immune system to produce antibodies and memory cells that “remember” the disease. If the person is later exposed to the infection, their immune system can respond rapidly, preventing illness or reducing severity. Some vaccines, such as MMR or HPV, provide long-term protection after a full course, while others like flu or COVID-19 require periodic boosters due to changing viral strains and waning immunity.
The Importance of Accredited Vaccination Training
Even experienced healthcare professionals benefit from refresher training. Vaccine administration techniques, policies, and guidance evolve – and staying current ensures safe, high-quality care.
Our courses:
- Align with UKHSA’s National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training (2025).
- Meet the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) professional standards.
- Include the latest guidance from The Green Book, NHS PGD/PSD frameworks, and UK immunisation schedules.
- Are delivered by qualified clinical educators with real-world experience in vaccination practice.
- Each course is fully evidence-based and continually updated with current national guidance.
