Stomas are used for a variety of reasons, most commonly for those who suffer from conditions such as Crohn’s disease, obstructions to the bladder or bowel or certain forms of cancer. They allow waste to be diverted out of your body if this is not possible by natural means.
Our Stoma Care training course is designed for registered health, care and support workers looking after those with a stoma fitted. Our Stoma Care course provides a comprehensive understanding of what a stoma is, the practical skills to provide stoma care and more. We are also able to provide bespoke training solutions to your organisation dependent on the specific needs of your patients and service users.
The course will be delivered by one of our expert trainers who will have extensive experience in stoma care. Through this, you can be confident that your organisation is up to date and competent in best practices related to stoma care.
On completion of the Stoma Care training course, we will provide the necessary competency proformas required to ensure safe and evidenced-based clinical practice. This will then allow the Registered Provider to ensure mandatory competency assessments are completed within the workplace by a nominated mentor/supervisor.
Should you need further advice regarding competency assessments, or if you would like one of our Registered Nurse Trainers to provide onsite competency assessments then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
