Adrenal Crisis Treatment Training
Our course covers all fundamental information surrounding Addison’s disease: its causes, symptoms, treatments, prevention as well as what to do if someone has an Adrenal Crisis.
Catheterisation is a means of draining urine from the bladder to be collected in a drainage bag. Urethral catheters are used for a variety of reasons including urinary incontinence, urinary retention and issues relating to surgery on the genital area. Our catheter training course has been designed for registered nurses required to carry out urethral catheterisation of patients within their care.
Throughout the duration of the catheterisation course, delegates will receive both theoretical and practical training using anatomically correct mannequins. This allows delegates to build up confidence and gain the necessary skills and knowledge before carrying out urethral catheterisation on real patients. Delegates will also learn how to effectively carry out catheter care to ensure good hygiene and reduce the risk of complications such as infection.
The Urethral Catheterisation Training and Catheter Care course will be delivered by one of our expert healthcare educators, who will have extensive experience within the area. Contently is frequently reviewed to ensure it is up to date and in line with current best practice. We are also able to offer bespoke learning programmes perfectly suited to the needs of your organisation. Prior to being certified by an employer as competent, delegates will also be required to complete a workbook and competency check within their own workplace, alongside a doctor or nurse who is competent in urethral catheterisation.
An adapted course can be delivered for suprapubic catheterisation if required. For non-registered nurses, we are able to deliver a catheter care course.
Guardian Angels Training will provide the necessary competency proformas required to ensure safe and evidenced-based clinical practice following completion of our catheterisation training courses. This will then allow the Registered Provider to ensure mandatory competency assessments are completed within the workplace by a nominated mentor/supervisor.
If you need further advice regarding competency assessments or if you would like one of our Registered Nurse Trainers to provide onsite competency assessments then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
